Dee graduated in 2015 from the New England Culinary Institute, one of the most world-renowned programs in the country, but that’s not where her interest in baking began. After completing her degree in genetics at Purdue she started baking as a hobby and quickly realized just how passionate she was about it.
Dee has worked in some of the most distinguished pastry departments in the United States including The Omni at Mt. Washington in New Hampshire and The Little Nell in Aspen. Most recently Dee was the Sr. Pastry Chef at the Sheraton and Westin Crown Center Hotels here in Kansas City.
Dee’s creative treats and beautiful designs got her noticed by the Food Network and she was invited to compete in the 2018 Spring Baking Championship. For the past three years, Dee has enjoyed sharing her food and recipes with Kansas City, frequently appearing on Fox 4 and KC Live. She has catered many large events including the annual Cerner Health Conference for over 12,000 attendees as well as the annual Women’s Foundation Luncheon and Jazzoo just to name a few.
Growing up in Wales, she has truly lived all over the world and enjoys traveling as much as possible. “I’ve always wanted to open my own place,” Dee says. “I have enjoyed working in hotels and resorts on a big scale for banquets and events, but now, I’m baking on a smaller, artisanal scale where I can experiment and put my own unique twist on my pastries and desserts.”
